Embodied Visual Meaning in Cinema: From Dynamic Patterns to Metaphors

At the Cognitive Tools in Action conference (Messina, Italy, 28–30 May 2025), Maarten Coëgnarts (LUCA School of Arts) co-presented a paper with Nunzio Langiulli (University of Parma) titled "Embodied Visual Meaning in Cinema: From Dynamic Patterns to Metaphors." The talk explored how dynamic motion patterns in film engage embodied and metaphorical cognition, offering new insights into narrative meaning-making through the lens of embodied cognition theory.
